Zurich’s Creative Industries Reports
When in 2003 the first creative economy report for Switzerland was published, a new and noteworthy awareness grew: For the cultural diversity of Switzerland the government-financed sector was as important as the commercial one.
To gain a better understanding about Zurichs role within Switzerlands cultural diversity, three Creative Industries Reports (2005, 2008, 2010) focussing on Zurich were published. They outline data and facts about the economical effects of the sector to the greater area of Zurich as well as specific chracteristics of the field.
Creative Industries Switzerland 2008
This publication written and edited by Christoph Weckerle, Manfred Gerig and Michael Söndermann in 2008 provides a greatly needed overview of the concepts and specific characteristics of Switzerlands creative industries. It analyzes the international discourse, presents up-to-date empirical-statistical Europe-wide analyses, derives models and draws conclusions for the current debate in Switzerland, and places special emphasis on the innovative potential of the creative scene and its dynamics for the entire creative industry.
